DESCRIPTION:By the time the Belgian Perl Workshop comes around\, the releas
e of Rakudo * will either have just happened or be about to happen.\n\nRak
udo * is a release of the Rakudo Perl 6 compiler\, bundled with a module i
nstallation/update tool and a collection of Perl 6 modules. It's not all o
f Perl 6\, but it's an important step on the way to a complete Perl 6 impl
ementation. Aimed at early adopters\, it delivers on a lot of the Perl 6 p
romises: clean OO with roles\, powerful parsing\, multiple dispatch\, junc
tions\, types\, signatures versioned modules and much more.\n\nIn this tal
k I'll look at what will be in the Rakodu * release and some of the things
that you can do with it. I'll discuss what you should consider using it f
or\, and what it's probably not ready for yet. I'll finish the talk with a
look at the development roadmap for the future\, in which we'll address t
he various shortcomings of Rakudo * and continue to build towards Perl 6.0
 .0.

DESCRIPTION:The most excellent lay-out language meets the most excellent pr
ogramming language: LaTeX and Perl\, a marriage made in heaven.\n\nThis ta
lk will focus on how to integrate LaTeX into your Perl projects\; how to u
se Perl as a glue language to control LaTeX as part of your publishing too
lchain and will give an overview of the modules and scripts available on (
and off) CPAN that deal with LaTeX.\n\nAimed at beginning and intermediary
level Perl users. No prior knowledge of LaTeX is required.
